History
Volcan was born from the demand to deliver desirable high performance mountain bikes. Function AND form – Volcán has proved that it’s possible to combine the two. In its short history, Volcán has made a significant impact, with national and international racing successes aboard some of the most beautiful mountain bikes on the planet.

Mission
Because Volcán is a young brand, we have been able to adopt modern industry principles. This includes getting the best riders to work with the best designers who in turn work with the best manufacturers. Our international partnerships allow us to create a truly global brand that’s focussed, formidable and uncompromising.

At Volcán, we create bikes for pro’s. Our pro’s are part of our design team. When they talk, our designers listen. As a result, Volcán bikes are of the highest standard. You may not be a pro, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ride a bike made for a pro. We’re all about quality, not quantity. The only thing we like in quantity is race victories!

Innovation
Because Volcán is a pure performance brand with a focussed model range, we can innovate faster. This means cutting edge technology and design (e.g. our internal cable routing and latest materials), can be implemented rapidly, benefitting our customers on the trail long before the large bike brands have even changed their factory molds. Tradition is a swear word at Volcán; we’re all about innovation.

Customisation
No discerning mountain biker wants to blend in with the masses, which is why we customise our customers’ bikes at the factory. We offer the option to spec each bike differently, using some of the world’s finest parts, components and accessories. We know what combinations work and we offer those as the basis. From there on, each bike takes on the character of its rider – the way it should be…

Value
While we strive to produce only the finest bicycles, we know that pricing is important. We don’t compromise on performance or quality, but we do negotiate with our suppliers to offer the most reasonable pricing. As a result, Volcán bikes deliver exceptional value for money. Debt and guilt are tough loads to carry whenever you swing a leg over your bike. We know this, which is why we offer exceptional value throughout our range.

Race
You can only do so much with CAD and in a laboratory. We rely on real world testing in extreme conditions under maximum pressure to hone our bikes. We confidently put our prototype Volcáns onto race startlines and then spend hours with our test pro’s discussing ways to make our bikes lighter, stiffer, faster without compromising durability. It’s a fine line and only under race conditions is that line actually visible

At Volcán, winning is everything. Sure, nobody likes to admit it because it sounds selfish and arrogant, but at Volcán, winning is what drives us. Because winning means being the best. Not second best; not happy to just finish. First place is what matters.

It’s not just marketing talk. In 2010 alone, Volcán bikes achieved 95 podiums (top 3) with an incredible 61 of those being victories, including four national titles. From XC races, to marathon races, to stage races, Volcan bikes are undoubtedly a dominant force.

Sizes for All
Unlike the majority of bike brands, Volcán offers a wider frame size spectrum, catering for really small and really large riders. The world’s top pro women racers don’t race women-specific frames, they’re on frames that are light, stiff and fast. Volcán specialises in custom fitting smaller frames for women who value performance. We offer the same option for really large riders. Your size shouldn’t count against you in your quest for peak performance.
